Okay, so technically I didn't take this picture on this day. (I took it about one month ago.) But I found it on my cell phone and it cracked me up (again) on Day 27. That counts. Right?

Day 25
Waiting at the dentist's office (we can't seem to leave this week). All the magazines to look at and he grabbed the Book of Mormon and asked if he could read to me. There are no words to describe that kind of moment.
Day 24
Breakfast in bed - take two.
(Notice his mouth is still swollen and sore and he's making us breakfast. Wow.)
(Also notice his shirt is backwards. You can see the markings of the tag in the front of his neckline. He does this every night now.)
Day 23
After pain so bad it kept him up all night, we scheduled a dentist appointment first thing the next morning. Turns out he had a cracked filling that had an infection in it. He was really a trooper though, holding still through lots of prodding and a painful shot. This is a picture of a cell phone picture of Damien trying to smile through the numbing medicine. I kinda like the lopsided smile. :)

Day 20
This is what happens when you use the leftover green milk from St. Patrick's Day to make french toast.
Day 16
I'd just like to point out that, according to the artist, we don't have mustaches. Damien's exact words were, "That's the nose part between the holes!" I don't, however, have an explanation as to why we are both wearing glasses. Damien just shrugged at that one.
Day 15
After missing 4 days of school, Damien caught up on all his homework in one sitting. He did over 10 pages of math and writing as well as reading 3 books, all without complaining. What a good kid!
Day 14
Michael's Grandma Parkes always has the most amazing spreads when she serves a meal. Let me clarify... when she serves each and every meal. This was just breakfast. Breakfast! I may not like to cook and I may never present something as beautiful as this first thing in the morning, but I sure appreciated such a wonderful start to the day! (The picture doesn't do it justice. It is much, much better in person.)

Day 12
Meet Kill. Our new neighbor. (Yes, his name is Kill.)
He has a large collection of swords in his home to protect himself from the bad guys that come on a regular basis. He kindly consented to let me take a picture of them, even though his "Mom" doesn't want him looking at camera's. (She, apparently, has no problem with swords though. Or naming her son "Kill".)
He's also quite proud of his muscles. I would be too - look at those guns!
Stay safe, Kill. I'm sure we'll be visiting soon. Don't tell your Mom about the pictures.
Day 11
For all you Spongebob fans out there, this comes from the title sequence. Damien never fails to play along to the nose-flute solo at the end. I love it. Every time. He'll even go so far as to say, "Hey, Mom! Remember at the end?" Just so I can watch.
Day 10
Can you guess what this is? Yeah, me neither. Can you guess who made it? Nope, not Johnny. Nope, not Damien. This beauty is all Michael's. Some sort of invention prototype. (And yes, the milk jugs are involved... somehow.) He has fun tinkering around with it from time to time. You might think it's rather silly, but it is one of the things I love about him. I still have no idea what it is...
Day 9
One Saturday morning (a while ago) Damien woke me up told me he was going to make me breakfast. This was the order that he wrote up, and then taped to the wall in my bedroom. The half peanut butter sandwich was excellent. The order was even better. :)
Day 8
It took four days and a visit to the doctor to figure out that the medicine on the right would help Damien's fever when the medicine on the left wouldn't touch it. Who knew? (Don't answer that.)
Day 7
What's a boy to do when we're stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the freeway? Play with a cardboard box, of course.
Day 6
For reasons unknown, Damien put this yarn in our freezer a couple of months ago. It makes me smile every time I see it so I haven't moved it yet.

Day 1
Michael wore this silly band for three days straight. Just because Damien gave it to him. Just because he's that kind of dad.
Starting now.
One of my dear friends has been posting this wonderful blog which I absolutely love. It's such a great idea and, after serious consideration for several months (because, come on, that's a commitment to the camera), I decided to follow in her footsteps. So here begins my year in pictures. Oh boy.
I like that I'm starting this from part-way into the year. I like that this will cover the end of my pregnancy and the beginnings of baby #3's life. I like the thought that this will help me remember the little things of our day to day lives that I so easily forget.
I'm sure I will miss a day or two. My goal is to miss no more than 12 (one per month), which I think is reasonable and attainable. And, for the record, I am nowhere near as good at taking pictures as Angie is. Forgive me ahead of time for poor lighting and bad focusing. I know that I won't be able to post every day, but will try to take the pictures every day and post once a week or so.
Wish me luck! March 1st, 2011 = Day 1
